Secretlab Titan vs Omega Gaming Chairs

Secretlab Titan vs Omega Gaming Chairs

There is no shortage of gaming chair brands available these days, and all of them provide some extraordinary benefits for their users.

On the other hand, it can be a challenge to pick the right gaming chair, as you can’t possibly test them all out. With so many names and styles to choose from, the task of buying a new chair can become a monumental one.

Fortunately, you have the internet, and people like us can do quite a bit of the research for you. In this article, we won’t go over every chair available on the market. That would take days.

But we will gladly take a look at one of the biggest names that are making a lot of noise today – Secretlab. Specifically, we want to look at the Secretlab Titan, which has been touted as the premier chair from the brand, and the Omega, which is a bit smaller and is considered more of an economy option.

We’ll put the Titan up against the Omega in multiple categories. If you’re considering Secretlab and have your heart set on the Titan, consider some of the features offered by Omega before pulling the trigger. You just may change your mind.

First, let’s look at the chairs in question. The Titan is considered a premier chair is very favorably rated. However, the Omega is an affordable chair with a lot of features that have made many gamers very happy.

Clearly, a lot of this will come down to size and personal preference. But there are many things to consider, and a thorough analysis is required.

About Secretlab

Secretlab is a Singaporean gaming chair company that is relatively new to the industry. They made a splash quickly, producing high-quality chairs that took the gaming world by storm. Many professional gamers abandoned bigger name chairs after trying these just once and have remained loyal ever since.

Secretlab has another line of chairs called the Throne, and it is considered to be the cheapest one that they offer. We could compare it to these two, but we feel that Titan and Omega are in an entirely different category.

The Throne is a great entry-level chair, but these two are light years ahead of it in terms of quality and value, which is why we are putting them against each other.

You should know that Secretlab takes quality control very seriously, which is why they have been certified by several agencies for their reliability, durability, and safety features.

The engineers at the company have spent many hours researching, testing, and developing chairs that are perfectly designed for ergonomic advantage and maximum comfort.

Because of these standards, we will preface the comparison by saying that both of these are likely to be very satisfactory to whoever buys them. However, you might be making a mistake if you go for one over the other due to a single feature. You should look at the entire package and pick the one whose priorities match up best with your own.

Now, onto the important stuff.

Titan vs. Omega: Cost

The costs aren’t drastically different, but the Omega does come in at a slightly lower price. You can find the Omega for $329, while the Titan will cost you $70 more at $399.

Who has the edge?

Omega.

If cost is the only factor that matters to you, then the Omega is the way to go. However, there are even cheaper chairs available, and if you are only shopping on price, maybe you shouldn’t be looking at Secretlab chairs.

Titan vs. Omega: Size

Here are where the two chairs really start to distinguish themselves from one another. The Titan is clearly the larger chair and is designed for larger gamers, whether they are extra tall, extremely muscular, or just have a wider frame. The Omega will generally work better for smaller gamers who are short, skinny, or lighter.

If you are more of an average size person, then either chair will probably work for you, and it will come down to preference. If you prefer to be snugger in your chair, then the Omega has the advantage, but if you like to have a lot of space in which to stretch out, then maybe you’ll like the Titan.

Titan specs

  • Backrest length: 34 inches
  • Backrest width: 23 inches
  • Seat width: 22 inches
  • Seat depth: 21 inches
  • Maximum height: 6 feet 4 inches
  • Maximum weight: 290 pounds

Omega specs

  • Backrest length: 32 inches
  • Backrest width: 21 inches
  • Seat width: 22 inches
  • Seat depth: 20 inches
  • Maximum height: 5 feet 9 inches
  • Maximum weight: 240 pounds (175 recommended)

Clearly, the Titan has a significantly larger profile here, and the only part where the Omega matches it is with its 22-inch seat width.

Who has the edge?

NONE.

The Titan is bigger, but that only matters if you are also larger. If you’re smaller, the Omega will work just fine. This one comes down to your body type. If you’re in between and could fit in either, then it just depends whether you want excess space.

Titan vs. Omega: Comfort

The true worth of a gaming chair is in how comfortable it really is. You aren’t going to be uncomfortable in any of Secretlab’s chairs, but you might find that one is significantly more comfortable than the other. This has to do with the build, structure, material, and quality of the chair overall.

We’ve found that both the Titan and Omega are incredibly comfortable chairs in which to sit for long periods of time. You won’t be disappointed by either of these while making your way through intense matches, grueling RPG levels, or even lighthearted practices. However, there are some differences between the two.

The Omega is no doubt a pleasure to sit in. The warm but breathable leather and pronounced cushions make for a really nice sitting experience. There is a lumbar pillow that feels nice and can be removed if you prefer not to have it. It isn’t great at keeping its place, so that is one point to knock against the Omega.

The Titan is one of the most luxurious gaming chairs on the market in terms of comfort. It boasts the same comfortable leather as the Omega, also coming with the option to upgrade.

However, the build and cushioning feel just a little better than the Omega – almost cloudlike when you sit on them. It also has an adjustable internal lumbar support, which we feel is advantageous as you can customize it to your preference.

Who has the edge?

Titan.

While the Omega is plenty comfortable and has a nice lumbar pillow, the Titan takes the cake in overall comfort and gets an extra point for having adjustable lumbar support.

Titan vs. Omega: Features

When compared to other brands of gaming chairs, pretty much every Secretlab chair could be considered “fully loaded.” They all have multiple features that give them a leg up over the competition and ensure a pleasurable experience for any serious gamer. There are still some differences between the Omega and Titan in this area, though.

When comparing the Titan to the Omega, it may seem that they are virtually the same chair in different sizes. A more thorough inspection will tell you a different story. They aren’t that far apart, but there are certainly some differences.

Who has the edge?

Titan. Slightly.

Once again, this comes down to the adjustable lumbar support. All of the other features are virtually the same, although they might work slightly better on the Titan, thanks to its superior build.

Titan vs. Omega: Aesthetics

Looks aren’t everything, but gamers have become more particular about the appearance of their chairs. For the mid-sized gamer, the choice between Titan and Omega could come down to aesthetics. Fortunately, both are quite striking chairs with plenty of picturesque qualities.

In essence, the chairs have the same physical makeup with slightly different sizes. The shapes are mostly similar, and depending on what fabric you choose, that could look similar as well.

Both chairs have a Secretlab logo at the head of the chair, but the major difference takes place below this. The center of the backrest on the Omega has a Greek Omega symbol, and the Titan contains the word “Titan” written across it.

While each chair offers five different color combinations, they aren’t all the same. Both have Stealth, which is black with red trim. Both also allow you to choose black with suede, which makes for a pretty cool monochromatic look.

Classic, which is black and white with red trim, and Ash, which is a black and grey combo, are available for both chairs as well. Where the chairs differ is in the final color option. The Omega offers a Royal Blue trim, while the Titan goes with an Amber trim.

If you opt for SoftWeave fabric over PU Leather, both chairs can come in either Cookies and Cream or Charcoal Blue. NAPA Leather offers only a monochrome black option for both.

Who has the edge?

This is all based on opinion; however, we personally think the Omega looks cooler than the written-out word “Titan.” Other than that, the chairs basically appear identical depending on what color options you choose.

Which is right for you: Titan or Omega?

Now that you’ve read through our grueling research on the topic, you should be able to choose the chair that is right for you. We’ve covered their features, specifications, weight and size limits, histories, and even aesthetics.

Ultimately, your decision should come down to two issues: size and budget.

If you are a smaller person, the Omega is likely the best option for you. It is $70 less and provides you with plenty of space. It also sits a little lower and will fit under smaller desks that you may work with.

Larger gamers should opt for the Titan, as it can accommodate more weight and has a higher backrest. Whether you are tall, wide, or both, the Titan will be able to support you for years of gaming hours at a time. However, you will need to have a bit larger of a budget as well, as it comes in at $399.

For those stuck in the middle sizes, it really comes down to preference, like so many other things. If you like a snug fit and/or want to save money, then the Omega is the right option. You’ll feel secure and can throw that extra $70 into a savings account, or maybe buy yourself some platform shoes.

However, if you’re average size and prefer to stretch out or have problems with feeling claustrophobic, then spring for the Titan. The extra space is a luxury that not many gaming chairs provide, and it will keep you comfortable throughout all the hours that you will inevitably spend gaming in it.

The real verdict is that you can’t go wrong with either of these splendid Secretlab chairs. They have so many features, and both are extremely reasonable in price. If you’ve been shopping around for a gaming chair and still haven’t made a decision, we believe that Secretlab is a perfectly good companion for you.
